June 2nd - placed order, receive confirmation of order & payment through paypal. I knew when I placed the order that they might arrive a little late, because I’d waited too long, but I expected maybe a week or two late. I figured it would be a super surprise since I’m not a gamer but I knew he plays in fate campaigns and the idea of rolling for fate with thousands of years old wood die amused me, so I sprung for Artisan Dice Ancient Bogwood Fate dice. I was super excited to order fate dice for my boyfriend’s birthday. ![]() ![]() I want to support a grass root company but there is a severe problem with the current business model and I won't make another order until their reputation on this matter changes. My secret santa experience cost this company my repeat business. But, if the website says IN STOCK and I literally email prior to order asking if there were random dice IN STOCK and get an affirmative, I expect a reasonable turn around. I even don't mind the price given the novelty factor of the dice. I don't mind waiting if I know that is a factor before I buy as I appreciate the craftmanship and would make a decision including that factor. So, they all got real nice custom dice bags instead. In fact, I've finished two campaigns for two groups, 11 people total, that I would have loved to commemorate by gifting these dice to my players but I have zero confidence that my order would resolve in a timely manner and I'm just not interested in throwing over 100 bucks into limbo. I am completely baffled and shocked that a company in 2015 is getting away with this kind of business, and there isn't enough of an uproar about it. I ask what my realistic expectations are at this point, to which I haven't gotten a response. And the latest email communication I get is that they're just now starting to inlay the dice. My order has been pushed aside so that they could maximize inventory for Gencon 2015. Gencon rolls around, and all I see on their facebook page is advertising of all the dice they made and plan to sell. I get a response saying "Hey we just got the bone in, we'll be working on the dice ASAP." OK. July 18th rolls around, which is beyond the 8 week period they say is the longest wait time. Anyways, I bit my tongue and decided to wait it out, because I wanted to be patient and understanding, craftsmen deserve that. I have no problem waiting for dice to be made, but again, I chose to order something listed as In Stock, which usually means otherwise. June rolled around and so I had sent an email inquiring about a rough estimate ETA, and I was informed that I should get these dice, no later than 8 weeks, and was referred to the process and timeline required for dice TO BE MADE. The date of this order was May 16th, 2015. ![]() Assuming this meant.in stock.I bought the Full Polyhedral set. Despite all this, my girlfriend is an avid D&D player, so I thought I would bite the bullet and get her some dice for a milestone birthday of hers.Īfter browsing their site, I saw the words IN STOCK displayed next to the Bayou Blue Gator Jawbone dice. Some who have still not received anything from their pledged amounts. I've seen so many nightmare stories from kickstarter backers.
